The Pinckneyville Public Library is a tax
supported public library. This means that
people residing within the corporate city
limits of Pinckneyville pay taxes to support
the library.
Those people residing or owning property
within the corporate city limits of Pinckneyville
need to pay no additional fee to be eligible to
receive their first library card. Property owners
must present a tax bill bearing the applicants
name. Replacement cards are $3.00 each.

Individuals residing outside the corporate city
limits of Pinckneyville but that are still in the
Pinckneyville school district may purchase a
non-resident card for the price of $25.00 per year.

Adults wishing to register for a library card, renew
an expired library card or replace a lost, stolen,
damaged or destroyed library card must bring
with them two forms of I.D. at least one of which
bears their name, address and picture. These
forms of I.D. include but are not limited to driver’s
license, state I.D., military I.D., utility bills or voter’s
registration card. New applicants are required to
live at the current address for a minimum of 14 days
prior to applying for a library card.

Children between the age of 5 and 18 must have a
parent present with I.D. when registering for a library
card.
