The Pinckneyville Public Library is a small town library with
a big heart. We offer a wide selection of materials, an Adult and
YA fiction section, a classics section, an impressive Juvenile
fiction and non-fiction section, and many early reader materials.
We also have a growing DVD selection designed to rival any
combination of media streaming services, access to the Libby
app with its extensive selection of audio and electronic books,
and a neat music CD selection for those who can still play them!
Here on our website we feature links to our archive project:
Pinckneyville Public Library Digital Archive
Our archival project has been ongoing since 2020. We have been
uploading materials of interest to Pinckneyville and Perry County
including histories, genealogies, and local artists. These can be
found under our Culture tab above.
We have available in library many Pinckneyville newspapers. Some
old on microfilm, some in bound editions. We also offer access to the
weekly local paper currently in circulation. There is also a
genealogical and local history section, as well as a display for local
authors and poets! We offer free desktop computer internet access
and free Wi-Fi with absolutely excellent speeds (both of which are
available to you even if you do not have a library card!). For a small
fee we offer printing, copying, and fax services as well.
For events we have Musical Story Time (watch John Henry on YouTube
for an example of this event.) We run a weekly beginners Chess Club,
a weekly Xbox 360 HALO system link gaming afternoon, a weekly STEM
Club, a monthly Magic the Gathering club, Star Trek night,
and much more. Stop in to see what’s going on!
